East Ridge TN PD (SWAT)

Stephen R/Master Breacher---I attended the Tactical Methods of Entry/Breaching Program.  The course is a well developed, comprehensive training program that teaches both basic and advanced breaching techniques.  The course also covers planning considerations, material and tool requirements, and the breacher's integration into team level operations.

Within 96 hours of completing the program, I was sent to a barricaded suspect call where I was able to apply the course principles.  Due to the course, I was better prepared to execute my duties and support the team's operation.

I would highly recommend this course to anyone in law enforcement and the first responder community

Florida Highway Patrol (SWAT)

Mitchell K./SWAT Team Member---I attended a recent Tactical Methods of Entry/Breaching  program conducted by the TATSOR Group  at the "Farm" near Marianna Florida.   Very well thought out training with great incorporation f CQB with the tactical applications of breaching.  Very good practical applications of all TTPs.  John your training is top notch.

East Ridge TN PD (SWAT)

Robert W./SWAT Commander---I attended their Tactical Leader Course. The information I learned lead to a revolutionized tactical planning process and increased operational effectiveness for our SWAT Team. Since that time, we have found John Sieh and his TATSOR Group to be knowledgeable, passionate, and very eager to help us improve our operational capabilities. In addition to receiving invitations to observe team sustainment trainings conducted by TATSOR, their personnel have also attended and observed our sustainment training, and the provided insights lead to further improvements in our tactics and techniques. We’ve since sent team members to TATSOR Trainings on tactical team operations, sniper/precision marksman operations, specialized vehicle assaults, and tactical team instructor certification. We have every intention of continuing to send our operators to TATSOR courses. Developing a relationship with the TATSOR Group and utilizing their training and expertise has improved our ability to perform our mission more significantly than any other school or professional training.

Doug W./SWAT Team Member---I attended a recent Tactical Methods of Entry/Breaching  conducted by the TATSOR Group  at the "Farm" near Marianna Florida.   This was a great training week and I would recommend this course to any law enforcement officer to increase his tactics.  I will try and encourage my department to utilize these tactics and use Johns training methods in the future.  Thank you.

Providence RI PD (SWAT)

Jarred M./SWAT Medic---I attended a variety of TATSOR Group Programs to include the TTC (SWAT training which emphasizes sound tactical and situational awareness and provides foundation tactics and marksmanship training). Prior to class attendance we (myself and my teammates) often times cleared rooms as individuals (TG teaches minimum of 2 personnel clearing a room within special operations). On one of my first operations after school that I participated in I found himself at a door in a house and recalling my TG training waited to go into the room until someone else could accompany me. If I had entered the room alone as we had done in the past I would have probably been killed….in that room were two individuals with guns and they were ready to use them. Lesson learned and applied.

Wilson County TN SO (SWAT)

Hank M./SWAT Commander---After attending a TG TLC program (Planning-Leadership) the newly assigned unit commander implemented what he learned in day-to-day special operations to include training and missions. The end result was a more streamlined and efficient system of planning and execution that culminated in mission successes at a 100% rate. This success has prompted the organization to request further training that included TTC attendance for the entire organization and follow on MTT training in Tenessee.

Okaloosa County FL SO (SRO)

Tom H./SRO---As an active Deputy Sheriff with 25 years of service, with 12 of those years as a School Resource Officer, the degree of training I received from TATSOR has provided me with insight into my skill level.  I’ve learned a lot from all of the instructors and will definitely add the techniques to my training.  All of the instructor’s knowledge and level of expertise are top notch and they are professional and encouraging to all that go through TATSOR’s training.

USAF Contingency Response Wing (USAF CRW)

Bryan M./USAF CRW Master Trainer--- John and the TATSOR Group...I wanted to reach out today and pass on a Thank You.  I received and email and an AAR from some of my former students who where ambushed during an advisory mission.  They passed on the training I had given them and forced them to drill over and over, saved their lives.  They had been in the middle of a training event when they where ambushed by a larger element.  They said their training kicked in and they where able to overcome the ambush and win the day.  They credited the training and my stubbornness forcing them to do it until they couldn't get it wrong is what saved their lives.  I passed on to them it wasn't my training I was just passing on the instruction you instilled in me.
I know your a humble man, but I can't thank you enough for sharing your wisdom with me, allowing me the opportunity give those Airman the tools they needed to survive the fight.

Eddie E./SWAT Commander---I have taken and sent troopers to TATSOR Group - ISOTF for instruction in Breaching Techniques, Basic Swat, Vehicle Assault, and Basic Sniper. I have found the instruction to be top of the line and relevant.
The facilities are up to date and very comfortable while staying on property. We plan to train with John in the near future.

Chris A./Tactical Commander---Our team began training with John Sieh in the spring of 2016. Since that time we have attended several of his courses. He has also conducted monthly sustainment training with our agency for the past year. I have attended several tactical courses throughout my time in SWAT, and Mr. Sieh's training is the best I have attended by far. His training is very professional and detail oriented.

Cleveland TN PD (SWAT)

Mark D./Former SWAT Commander---I am the former SWAT Commander of a one hundred officer department that serves a citizenry of approximately 50,000 people. I began my working relationship with John Sieh in 2015. Mr. Sieh brings a level of professionalism and real world operational experience into the classroom that is not exceeded in the law enforcement community. My agency has since contracted with John Sieh and his TATSOR Group exclusively to provide law enforcement special operations training to our SWAT unit. I highly recommend the courses of instruction provided by Mr. Sieh.

Ohio DOC Special Operations (STAR)

Robert R./Team Leader---As the team leader for the Northwest Ohio Special Tactics and Response Team, we made the decision to reach out to John at TATSOR group concerning his Tactical Tracking course. At that time Ohio corrections did not offer that training. John was easy to work with and was willing to travel to Ohio and conduct the training which made it easier on our Operators.

We were impressed with his knowledge in the subjects he was teaching to include the firearms portion. The training John conducted was very physically demanding, 10 hours plus per day. This was not a class where you just show up, hang out, and go home every day. John expected a high level of commitment throughout the course. He expected a high level of comprehension from every operator prior to signing off on the course completion.

After completion of the course, Special Operations have since incorporated a tracking portion for all of their Tactical Operators. I feel that this course would be beneficial to all Law Enforcement Officers in the performance of their job duties.

Raynham MA PD

Tom C./SWAT Officer---I am a police officer in Massachusetts and have had the honor and pleasure of training with John Sieh of the TATSOR Group. I started with John about 10 years ago and I have to say his training is the best I have received in my career. John's realism towards validating his theories and concepts only proves that his training is exceptional. I use the training I received every day on the job.  I can not thank John and the TATSOR Group enough for his attention to detail on the minor aspects that not only made me a better operator, but also a much better patrol officer.  I highly recommend taking any training that this team offers.

Joshua H./Master Assaulter---

I have found the TATSOR group courses and sustainment training to be of the highest professional caliber available to current law enforcement. It is, bar none, the level of training crucial to any part-time or full-time tactical team truly committed to professional and operational excellence. They offer the closest training tempo to military standards that I have seen since ending my active duty time in the Marine corps. I have observed our team shed foundational tactical issues plaguing law enforcement special operations to focused, highly functional professionals that should be a standard in our profession. The programs are the right style of progression from tactical marksmanship to planning to tactical engagement of operational anomalies experienced on the worst days for law enforcement. The live-fire application of tactics not only validate agency TTPs, but truly build competent, confident operators.

Bridgewater MA PD (SWAT)

Carl M./Former MJ SWAT Commander---I have known John F. Sieh for [19] years, I first came to know him through being our SWAT Team sustainment trainer. John Sieh is responsible for training, evaluating and assessing our Department and regional Tactical Team in: Patrol Officers Tactical Courses, physical training, firearms, snipers, hostage negotiators, tactical operations, team movement, live fire exercises, Close Quarter Tactics, documenting training, pointing out deficiencies, equipment and overall needs to better qualify our department and regional team. His vast knowledge, experience, tactics and training gained over his thirty-year military career in the United States Army Special Forces is second to none. He has provided us with not only a strong foundational basis but has developed our department personnel and regional tactical team to become better skilled and high functioning through his tier training.

At [62] years of age his physical endurance, mental discipline, attention to detail and demand for excellence is exemplary. Having trained Military and Law enforcement personnel both domestically and internationally he can teach and mentor anywhere. His most important quality is how humble he is in-regards to his accomplishments. It is only over time when you will hear others in the Military and Law Enforcement community speak of his expertise, high level of training and accomplishments.

It is my pleasure and honor to know John F. Sieh, to call him a friend and to have received and been trained by a person of his caliber and sound reputation. I write this testimonial with a high degree of respect and admiration of him.

Cleveland TN PD (SWAT)

Whitney O./Assistant Master Sniper---I have been very fortunate to be able to train under John Sieh’s (TATSOR Group) supervision shortly after I became a part of my department’s SWAT Team in 2016. Having been through the Tactical Team Course (TTC) and Entry-Basic Sniper Observer Team Operations Course (EB-SOTOC), as well as a Full Mission Profile (FMP) Training session, at Integrated Special Operations Training Facility (ISOTF) in Altha, FL and completed our first year of monthly sustainment training both as part of the Entry element and Sniper-Observer element, I have to say John’s methods of training are unparalleled. His programs are very detail oriented and professional. The training our team has received through TATSOR Group has been and continues to be vital to our operational success. I have watched our team have huge gains in skill and knowledge. Our operations from planning to execution on through post operation debriefs have become seamless. I look forward to future training opportunities.

Okaloosa County FL SO (SRO)

Tori C./SRO---The training exceeded my expectations. The quality of the material was outstanding.  The patience from the instructors certainly helped myself and co-workers gain more confidence in our abilities and decisions. The love all the instructors have for this field and their desire to share and help others was seen EVERY day starting with the greeting when we fIrst arrived for the training program.  I will definitely be back for additional training any chance I get for the remainder of my career.  Thank you for helping my confidence and skills and ensuring myself and co-workers make it home safe each and every day.

Okaloosa County FL SO (SRO)

Amber F./SRO---I have never trained under better instructors.  The instruction was so well laid out and directed that I was able to clearly and confidently process and execute commands. The most important thing I learned was to SLOW DOWN!  Each new tactic was explained in detail and was very easy to understand and pick up.  It was an honor attending!

                            ---

Okaloosa County FL SO (SRO)

Whitney M./SRO---Based upon my previous experiences in training I did not want to attend this SRO training program.  I was nervous at the beginning and wrongly "assumed" that it would be like other trainings I attended...when mistakes are made voices are raised and no corrections/help to improve provided.  I was wrong.  You (the instructors) showed me from the start what a true teacher/instructor is.  You changed my mindset and helped/made me realize I am capable.  I have wanted to build my confidence with my rifle because the safety of my staff/kids is always on my mind.  Your training and teaching has forever changed me.  Thank you!!!

                              ---

Okaloosa County FL SO (SRO)

Warren M./SRO---The training received was unlike any other I have ever received with Okaloosa County and the USAF.  It was in depth with extensive practical application. I am more confident and prepared to do my duties successfully thanks to your training.  Thank you very much and God Bless.

Okaloosa County FL SO (SRO)

Josh W./SRO---I recently attended the TATSOR Group POTC III class in Altha, Florida.  The only way I can describe the training and experience I received is amazing.  I came into the week not knowing what to expect and left with not only a wealth of knowledge but a great deal of confidence in myself and my job.  I have 8 years of law enforcement experience which includes 3 years as a corrections officer, 5 years as a sworn patrol officer.  In those 5 years I spent 2 years on a SWAT team in Kansas as well as a year in the criminal investigations division.  The training I have had in my 8 years would not come close to the training I received from the TATSOR group (to include SWAT school).  John Sieh is a great instructor.  He not only trains you in extreme conditions, but he breaks down every element in his training to allow you to not only perform at your peak level but have an understanding of why you perform the way you do.  John pushes you to the limit physically and mentally but stands by you the entire time and helps you push through.  They believe no person should be left behind.  John is the type of instructor who cares about his students and wants to see them succeed.  I only know him from the 3 days we spent with him as a class, but I learned enough about him and respect him to consider him as a mentor I could turn to, and will! The biggest thing I took back from training was how much you can learn, and accomplish just by slowing down and breathing.  If you can control your breathing, you can control you mind.  If you can control your mind, you can control your body.  It all starts with tactical breathing.  Amazing. I was advised I had one of the most top performances during our final scenario of the week.  I accomplished this task by taking everything John taught and putting it into practice.  I want to thank John for taking their time and investing it into others.  As a father and husband, I desire to make it home at the end of my shift.  John’s training will play a tremendous role in helping complete that mission, as well as protecting the lives of others.

US Border Patrol Tactical Unit/SOG

Sean C./SBPA-BORTAC---John Sieh, more specifically SOTT-I provided a customized training program for the Border Patrol Tactical Unit in 2007 through 2008.

In 2007, BORTAC began researching outside training entities with extensive DOD Special Operations experience to assist us with enhancing our overall capabilities. The areas in question were specialty targets to include but not be limited to: Aircraft Assaults; Bus and Train Assaults; Immediate Action and

Counter Assault Mobility Operations.

SOTT-I was selected as the company that met our needs and requirements for the training. Over the course of a year, SOTT-I trained over 100 Operators in a 3-week block of instruction:

  1. Planning for complex specialty target assault operations (Bus-Aircraft)
  2. Assault Processes (Bus-Aircraft)
  3. Convoy Immediate Action Drills

The expertise of SOTT-I enabled BORTAC to further enhance these capabilities. I highly recommend SOTT-I, they are a professional organization that provides excellent instruction based on Real World experience and not just credentials based upon simply schooling and certificates.  To this day, BORTAC maintains a very close relationship with SOTT-I and John Sieh.

SEMLEC/SEMLEC CHN

John T./Former Commander METROLEC CHNT/Currently CHN w/ SEMLEC---The more you sweat in peace the less you bleed in war…” This phrase is easy to say, I’ve heard it hundreds of times from trainers and trainees alike. But, if you want to know the true nature of a man you look at his actions, don’t just listen to his words. John Sieh is a man of action that I’ve come to admire greatly over the past decade; a man that epitomizes preparedness. The trainings that I have attended with John and his team have challenged me not only as a Negotiator but as a person. John’s thoughtful and methodical approach to training conjoined with his real world experience helped mold our team into a single entity; “the whole being greater than the sum of its parts”. We’ve saved lives as Negotiators and as SWAT Operators, and that is a direct result of training received from John Sieh and his team.

---

Cleveland Tn PD (SWAT)

Matt B./SWAT Commander---John’s Training Management System (TMS) and his guidance we have become a different team. Our knowledge and abilities have drastically improved and as a result lives have likely been saved. The sustainment training that is provided to our team keeps us sharp and has helped us progress much farther than if we would have continued training on our own. Training at the Integrated Special Operations Training Facility (ISOTF) in Florida has also been an incredibly beneficial experience for our team. The ability to conduct live fire training operations in nearly any environment we may encounter operationally is simply invaluable. Simply put, training with John and all of his adjunct instructors has been the most valuable and beneficial decision our team has ever made.

Some of the primary areas of training that SOTT-I conducts with my Division are Tactical Combat Marksmanship, Tactical Precision Marksmanship, Close Quarter Battle/ Tactical Room Entry, Tactical Law Enforcement Decision Making/ Planning, Methods of Entry, Defensive Tactics, High Risk Transportation, Interoperability Operations and Canine Special Operations.
John F. Sieh and his cadre of instructors are top notch. Their knowledge, experience and method of instruction has brought my Division to a high level of proficiency and operability. It has been a pleasure for me and my Division to have been trained by a person with such high standards, expectations and professionalism. I am writing this letter of reference with a very high degree of admiration.
